Rescued From the Drain: How We Found Tiny
It was 6:30 PM on a Tuesday when our emergency line rang. A passerby had heard faint whimpers coming from a storm drain near the main market in Sector 15, Panchkula.
Our rescue team arrived within 20 minutes. What we found was a litter of four pups — barely a week old — huddled together in the dark, soaking wet. Their mother was nowhere to be found.
The Rescue
We carefully extracted each pup using a specialized pole and a padded carrier. All four were hypothermic and dehydrated. We named them Tiny, Dot, Storm, and Lucky.
Immediate care provided:
- Warming under supervised heat lamps
- Electrolyte supplementation
- Hourly bottle feeding for the first 72 hours
- Round-the-clock monitoring by our volunteer team
Recovery
Tiny was the most critical — she weighed just 180 grams on arrival. But within two weeks, all four pups were feeding independently and gaining weight steadily.
Today, Tiny and her siblings are thriving at our shelter, awaiting forever homes. Their story is a reminder of why every emergency call matters.
